Our Mission:

To provide affordable leading edge Multi-Agency and Multi-Jursisdictional mobile radio interoperability solutions, that can be implemented now over exisisting sytems already in operation or as a new commercial off the shelf system.

Our target market are small and medium size First Responder and Public Safety agencies which are not typically on the radar screen of large vendors of mobile radio systems and accessories. We offer the latest technology including Voice Over IP newtorks and switches, and a new generation of software radios now becoming available. Above all, we offer technical consultation and before we propose a solution we meet with our customers to develop a good understanding of their technical and operational requirements. We built a successful busines model offering technical merit to our customers, and working with them through all stages of a project.

Message from Ramon Abelleyro

I founded Radio Systems Marketing in early 1990, the large multinational company I had worked for the previous fourteen years started to wind down and, later, completely disappeared. After over 25 years of continuous employment in the fixed and mobile communications field I focused on one of the strongest emerging markets: mobile radio and computing systems. I had extensive communications experience as a Systems Engineer, Sales Engineer, Manager of a Telecommunications Division and Director of Business Development and Systems Sales.

When I started with that multinational company in 1976 as a Systems Engineer my first project was to develop an interoperable mobile radio system. I designed the central switching system with interfaces to all the radio systems, dispatchers and the public telephone network. This was the core to communicate several Public Safety Agencies operating across the major highways in urban and rural areas of the Yukon covering a territory about the size of Alaska, linking mobile radios from multiple agencies and also providing an interface to the public telephone system. A mission critical system, it had to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I designed and helped to build several large racks full of relays, timers, tone encoders and decoders and assorted components that would "click, bang and whistle" as we operated them. Then I traveled to Whitehorse to train their engineers, it was a wonderful way to start a career in mobile communications. Other similar and more complex projects followed, it was a great learning experience. That first Yukon system remained in operation for over fifteen years and outlasted me at my job with that company.

From Radio Systems Marketing I worked with several defense contractors, led a small hardware engineering "Tiger Team" designing communications systems for a large mission critical/fault tolerant Air Traffic Control system, managed a division developing a system concept and technical proposal for a $ 150 M interoperable radio system for over 72 Public Safety Agencies, actively participated in the design of the first digital Tetrapol digital mobile radio in the US for a large US Military system and developed a mobile interoperable communications vehicle for a major defense contractor. I also worked with the National Guard, non-profit Public Safety organizations and supported teams with the recently created Department of Homeland Security for some specific First Responder Radio Interoperability analysis/evaluation work

The present focus of Radio Systems Marketing is to provide affordable, cost effective interoperability solutions to Public Safety Agencies and First Responders. The goal is to use as much as possible of the legacy systems already in place and provide an advanced technology solution to link them together, while also offering state of the art "mobile computing extensions" to upgrade and empower existing systems for those customers that in addition to voice interoperability also require mobile computing.
